Although I will give you "step-by-step" instructions, this is in no way the "yellow brick road" to creating great art.  These steps are merely to get you started on your own artistic path, armed with some tried and tested principles.  Then it's up to you to practice, explore and develop.

There is ONE GOLDEN RULE however -- you must have FUN!  This is non-negotiable.

Soon, by having fun, following the free art lessons, art exercises and art projects, then with a little practice and perseverance, you will amaze family and friends with your drawings and paintings. Perhaps even surprise them with really good creative artwork as a personal gift.

We may not all aspire to be great talented artists and illustrators, but there is an untapped level of creativity in most of us. Art is like driving a motor vehicle and although forward progress is possible without adhering to the "rules of the road", progress will be hampered by unnecessary mistakes, wrong turns and accidents.
So before we begin practical art lessons and art projects and in order to learn how to draw and paint correctly, it is necessary to have a grasp of certain principles that will make the difference in your creative progress. These principles are like road signs or using a road map that will help you arrive at your desired destination with the least amount of error and time wasting.  It is therefore important that you have patience and begin
to understand the foundations that successful art is built on -- before you jump in and acquire bad habits.
